Pre-release
A beginner-friendly route from playstyle to first squad, using the confirmed Specialization framework and clearly labeled preview guidance.
Pick the kind of turn you want to repeat, then use weapons, Utility, Talents, and Mods to fill the gaps.
Start by looking at Medic or Heavy. Medic brings recovery and team support, while Heavy draws attention and creates room for the rest of the squad.
Soldier is the flexible starting point for direct attacks, melee control, grenades, and area damage. Gunslinger suits players who enjoy repeated shots and kill-driven momentum.
Sharpshooter is built around accuracy, stable ranged damage, and Overwatch. It rewards planning a firing position before the enemy turn.
Scout helps reveal targets and generate Advantage. Scoundrel marks priority targets and enables allied follow-up attacks. These roles become more valuable when the squad is built around a shared payoff.
Assault focuses on closing distance, flanking, melee attacks, and pushing enemies. Look for cover, ledges, and objective routes that reward movement.
These are preview-based learning templates. They show how roles can complement each other and do not represent a final tier list.
Heavy plus Medic plus Sharpshooter plus Soldier gives the squad a frontline anchor, recovery, reliable ranged pressure, and flexible area damage. Replace one damage role when a mission asks for more scouting or setup.
Scout plus Gunslinger creates a resource and action loop around spotting targets, gaining Advantage, and using rapid attacks. Add a support or frontline role when the mission punishes exposed positioning.
Scoundrel plus Sharpshooter creates a setup and payoff pattern: mark or expose a priority target, then use a reliable high-damage attack. The remaining slots can cover healing, defense, or mobility.
Keep the first build readable. Add one layer at a time so you can tell which choice changed the result.
Decide whether this Operator should protect allies, finish targets, generate Advantage, create openings, or take objectives.
Use weapon range, Utility, and positioning to solve the problems your Specialization cannot solve alone. Preview material describes flexible weapon choices across standard Operators.
Choose a Talent or Mod that makes the main turn more consistent. Candidate Talent names and exact rank values remain under review, so early recommendations should focus on function rather than a final number.
After a few missions, check whether the squad can create a safe position, spend AP efficiently, generate or use Advantage, and recover from a bad turn.
Jedi, Astromech, and Mandalorian related characters may have different Specialization or equipment limits from standard Operators.
Preview material describes a lightsaber and Force related options in place of the ordinary loadout assumptions. Treat the full equipment and Advantage interaction as a launch check.
Preview material describes Astromechs as unable to use traditional weapons while receiving additional Utility capacity. The exact slot and ability rules need confirmation.
Official and preview material mention Mandalorian characters or imagery. The limits of creating or freely respecializing this category remain open.
Use the guide to choose a direction, then confirm the final screen before treating any build as definitive.
Preview and community material describe multiple Talent choices and investment stages, but the final count, rank names, and values remain under review.
Several preview sources describe a later second Specialization. The exact timing, eligibility, and respec rules should remain open until official or launch evidence confirms them.
Ability costs, Advantage gains, rank upgrades, hit bonuses, and damage values in preview transcripts should be checked against the launch UI before publication as final rules.
